Key points to remember about Math Facts assessment:

• The first and (sometimes) second sections in each ATOL test form contain "flash card" items that we call Math Facts.
• The purpose of testing with these flash cards is to see how well students have memorized basic math tables, as well as how quickly they can perform calculations mentally.
• Students should be able to answer each flash card in under 10 seconds.
• Students do not use paper and pencil on any Math Fact item.
