Arithmetic Online

Currently under development, and scheduled for release in the summer of 2007, Arithmetic Online™ will be an easily accessible, web-based tool that parents and educators will be able to use to determine whether children have mastered the fundamentals of arithmetic. Thus, this project will provide educators with tools to focus on core areas of math education in the classroom and will help empower parents to play a more central role as their child's first teacher, assisting them in ensuring that their children develop the core arithmetic skills necessary to succeed academically as well as in other aspects of life. The project will be national in scope, with parents and students in any U.S. state or location with Internet access having the ability to access the site. Arithmetic is one of the core skills emphasized in the No Child Left Behind Act and one of the two subjects on which a school's Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is measured.

Field testing is scheduled to begin April 2007.
